Usually everyday when my stomach growls after my long day of classes, the last thing that I want to eat is food from
Umphrey Lee. The selection is so limited, and I eat practically the same thing every time I go. After awhile I sand which and a salad gets old, and I am too scared to try some of the food because it does not look safe. Especially now that I am trying to eat healthy, there are not many options. There are plenty of good desserts. I cannot keep my eyes of the cookies, brownies, cakes, and ice cream. However, there are hardly any healthy vegetables or meats that make my mouth water.
Because of this I was shocked that Asian Night last night was so good! There was a variety of sushi that was very tasty. The Beef and Broccoli dish was fabulous and the mixed grilled vegetables were a healthy yet delicious side. This is not just my opinion, everyone that I talked loved it. It was the talk of the campus last night. Therefore, I think that Umphrey Lee needs to have more theme night dinners because they much better than normal food. I also feel as if we as students deserve it because we pay so much money for our required freshman meal plan.

Amen to that meal plan comment. A friend and I did the rought calculations and you have to eat 16 dollars worth of food every single day to merely break even with the cost of the meal plan. But, I don't know about you, I love my two or three Jimmy John's runs every week so when you really think about it, some days we spend money to buy food elsewhere while we are spending money to NOT eat at Umph. Ridiculous! Bring on sophomore year and the option of freewill with our meal plans. Ha.
Was Asian Night just about food, or was there some other cultural component to it?
